Freedom of flow, huh?

The BBC reports that Oxford University Press is publishing a series of books on the seven deadly sins.

Cambridge University's Simon Blackburn gets to, er, write the book on lust. In fact, he's coming to the rescue of lust. As the OUP says:

Lust, says Simon Blackburn, is furtive, headlong, always sizing up opportunities. It is a trail of clothing in the hallway, the trashy cousin of love. But be that as it may, the aim of this delightful book is to rescue lust "from the denunciations of old men of the deserts, to deliver it from the pallid and envious confessor and the stocks and pillories of the Puritans, to drag it from the category of sin to that of virtue."
Instead of this repression, Blackburn proposes that society embrace its passions:
The philosopher says that if reciprocated, lust leads to pleasure and "best flourishes when unencumbered by bad philosophy and ideology... which prevent its freedom of flow." - Sunday Times, via BBC

Work can really keep someone from reading blogs... I have finally gotten back here... It's looking good.

Interesting about that picture, because I could have sworn it was the same one. Ah well.

Have a great day...
